British footballer, Joey Barton has been slammed by Nigerians for condemning Wizkid’s Ojuelegba as trash.
British-Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua used Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ as his ring walk music during fight with Cameroonian-French professional boxer Carlos Takam on Saturday night.

Arsenal pile pressure on struggling Everton with big win at Goodison

The pressure on Everton manager Ronald Koeman increased as his side dropped into the relegation zone after a 5-2 defeat to Arsenal at Goodison Park.

Arsenal made by far the brighter start against opponents whose lack of confidence was soon apparent, and the visitors were almost ahead after only four minutes.

The chance came when Alexis Sanchez found Mesut Ozil, who freed Aaron Ramsey for a strike that was well stopped by home keeper Jordan Pickford.

For veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, taking time to sleep is very important and he does not trade it for anything, even money.


Speaking with newsmen, he said that he ensures he gets at least seven hours of sleep every night and most people close to him know this about him.

He said, “I always sleep for seven hours, or even more. By 9 pm, I am already in bed, and a lot of producers know this about me. If I am to shoot at night, you should have told me earlier so that I would have slept in the afternoon before coming. But I will still sleep after the production. I know the importance of sleep to the human body and I get a lot of it.’

Meanwhile, Kosoko is not happy about the fact that stage plays are not taken seriously in this part of the world. According to him, he tries to contribute his quota to ensure that stage plays do not go into extinction.

Tagbo’s brother speaks on Davido’s absence at burial

Tagbo’s brother, Chigbo has revealed that Nigerian pop artiste, Davido, did not attend the burial ceremony of his friend, Tagbo Umeike on Friday.


Tagbo, allegedly died of alcohol after spending his birthday with Davido and his crew in Lagos.
The young man was buried in his hometown in Anambra State yesterday.
Tagbo’s brother, Chigbo revealed that although his brother’s life was cut short unexpectedly, his burial went according to plans.
He said , “My brother was buried on Friday and it is so sad that we have lost someone with a big heart.
“However , Davido was not present at the burial neither did he send a representative but at this point, we have no comment on that.
“I would miss my brother a lot because he had a big heart. He was not only my brother but a lot of people’s brother as well.

“Through my late brother, I have made a lot of friends turned brother and despite his death, I hope to still keep these wonderful people as my brothers.”

Police nab couple trying to buy baby for N15,000

The police have arrested four persons for paying N13,000 to buy a five-month-old baby boy.



Appearing before a magistrate’s court in Kano on Friday, the suspects pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Aminu Fagge, who presided over the case, granted the four suspects bail.

Fagge imposed N300,000 bail condition on each of the four suspects.

Among the suspects were Itohan Pius, 32, of ECWA Eye Hospital Kano; a couple from Rivers State, Sandra Bob-Manuel, 39;Charles Bob-Manuel, 42; and one Charles Akindoji, 30, from Kaduna State.

The suspects are standing trial on a two counts of “criminal conspiracy and buying or selling minor for immoral purpose, which contravene the provisions of sections 97 and 278 of the penal code.”

The police prosecutor, Yusuf Sale, told the court that the suspects committed the offence on October 10, in Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano.

According to Sale, the accused approached one Fatima Ahmad, mother of the baby, to buy the child.

1,272 fail Law School exams

The Nigerian Law School has said that 1, 272 of its students representing 21.6 per cent of those who participated in the final bar examinations conducted in August, failed.



The institution also said 29 students were graded first class.

This is contained in the executive summary of the results of the Council of Legal Education which runs the NLS.

The document signed by the Director-General of the NLS, Mr. Olanrewaju Onadeko (SAN), and released to journalists in Abuja on Saturday stated that 5,891 students participated in the examinations
